This video presents Bibiana Bilbao’s work on the potential of traditional fire management in Venezuela. Based on Indigenous community knowledge, it shows how traditional burning in savannas helps reduce fuel loads, prevent large wildfires, protect forests, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study highlights the integration of Indigenous, scientific, and institutional knowledge for integrated fire management and climate action.
