Brigadistas (civilian wildland firefighters) from Quilombola communities engaged in active nighttime wildfire suppression in the Kalunga Quilombola territory. The brigadistas use backpack blowers (to reduce fire intensity by depriving flames of oxygen and slowing spread at the fire front) as part of coordinated field operations under low-visibility night conditions.
